Escrow service

Escrow.com: Buy or Sell Online Without the Fear of Fraud

Over the past year, a few people who were lucky enough to be an owner of "one half" of a confirmed matching pair, have inquired if I would be the middleman for a transaction where one bill owner would sell (or buy) the other bill from the other owner.

I've prided myself on not interfering with negotiations between two owners.  I will answer general questions to an extent, but do not want to be in a position where I am accused by one party of favoritism, collusion or anything nefarious.  Not to mention being caught in the middle of a he-said-she-said argument.

I've previously suggested the safest way to transact is to go through Ebay.  After some digging I discovered Escrow.com

Compared to Ebay fees, you pay less than half the fees using Escrow.com.  Please refer to my webpage that goes into fuller detail:  All about Escrow.com

Website Updates and New Features

I was just an innocent list owner...

The transition away from relying too heavily on Google spreadsheets is now complete.  As of this date, Google STILL HAS NOT responded to my appeal in which they made an error in flagging my Database spreadsheet as 'Spam', making it unviewable to members.

The Database (also known as the "Serial Number List") is now in its permanent home on the website at http://bit.ly/3KNpX3I
It is also accessible on the website wherever you see the Database button:
2013B Serial Number Database
The new Database is a PDF file that can be viewed on the website. It can be expanded to be full-screen size, at which point you have the option to download the PDF to your computer.

Confirmed Match! SN B* 05807038

Project 2013B Confirmed Match of duplicate serial number on series 2013B star notes
Project 2013B Confirmed Matched Pair SN B* 05807038

PROJECT 2013B has it's 30th confirmed match! There are now 42 confirmed matching pairs over the history of this project, the Zegers/Winograd project that preceded it, and matched pairs spotted at auctions. Started in October of 2021, Project 2013B started with a list of 10,072 banknotes, and now has over 34,234 unique banknotes registered it its database.

"About 30 years ago I collected a very small amount of silver coins and a few silver certificates while working at a grocery store. They were stashed away and never thought about it.

I got the itch to start collecting star notes constitutional silver. I only started collecting about 10 months ago. I had no idea about the 2013 notes until about 8 months ago. Stumbled onto the 2013 notes in a Facebook group that the members sell coins and notes. Saw a post and Researched the 2013b Project and then started looking.

I actually already had one in my small stack and didn’t even know it.
Bought some through fb groups and eBay and now have about 60 of them.
I am currently in South Texas.  "

Photos of the bills from both parties officially confirmed a match very, very late last night.
From the day the match was detected in the database, to today's photo verification took 2 days.
Remember to check your spam folders just in case a matching pair announcement is emailed to you, and you could see your bill showcased here... not to mention having set that could bring thousands of dollars at auction (subject to bills condition of course).  Subscribe to the newsletter for extra 'insurance' against the spam folder scenario. GameChanger? A one-stop shop for selling a matched pair!

"Next up for bid is this duplicate serial number production error!"

Quite often when two individuals are informed by Project 2013B that they each own one-half of a matched pair, their is confusion (particularly among non collectors) as to what the next steps should be, or even how much their bill is worth. I have always left negotiations up to the two parties involved.

Today, I am pleased to offer this set of instructions for selling which involves much LESS 'trusting the other guy', and will truly fetch you a price of what your bill is really worth. Of course this process is for cases where both owners want to sell the matched pair, but it could also be a viable alternative where negotiations are at some impasse. I have reached out to other auction houses several times to come up with a step-by-step process that one could follow, but unfortunately we never heard back. Fortunately the auction house GreatCollections did respond, and we now have a process to follow!  Best of all, the grading of each bill in included; it's like a one-stop shop.
Most of these steps document the real life experience of two owners who submitted their bills to the auction house GreatCollections. At the time of writing (March 2023), both banknotes are currently at the grading stage. Apparently the grading companies that certify and grade banknotes have a backlog of anywhere from 60 to 120 days!

The step-by-step instructions can be found at this link: INSTRUCTIONS

These instructions will be provided in all future notifications to members whose bill is found to be part of a newly discovered matched pair in the database.
