ESCROW SERVICE
Why Escrow?
Escrow services are offered by Project 2013B to facilitate secure transactions between buyers and sellers of individual banknotes. This option is ideal for parties who prefer not to rely solely on mutual trust when dealing with unknown counterparties. Fees are applied to both the buyer and the seller and are calculated based on the final agreed sale price of the banknote.
Escrow Fee
For banknotes sold at a price below $400, a fee of $25 is charged to the buyer in addition to the agreed sale price. The corresponding seller fee is deducted directly from the total amount received from the sale.
Example: A buyer and seller agree on a sale price of $300. The buyer remits $325 ($300 + $25 fee) to Project 2013B. Upon receipt and verification of the banknote, Project 2013B disburses $275 ($300 – $25 fee) to the seller. The banknote is then shipped to the buyer, and a tracking number is provided.

.
For banknotes sold at a price of $400 or more, a fee of 5% is charged to the buyer in addition to the agreed sale price. The corresponding seller fee is deducted directly from the total amount received from the sale.

Example: A buyer and seller agree on a sale price of $500, resulting in a 5% fee of $25. The buyer remits $525 ($500 + $25) to Project 2013B. Upon receipt and verification of the banknote, Project 2013B disburses $475 ($500 – $25) to the seller. The banknote is then shipped to the buyer, and a tracking number is provided.

.
Shipping with tracking is included in the fees for both of the examples above.
Payment Method
All financial transactions must be conducted exclusively through Wise (formerly TransferWise). This requirement is non-negotiable, as alternative payment methods are subject to high fees, increased risk of fraud, and potential chargebacks.
You may choose from the following two payment options:
1. Open a Wise Account:
Creating a Wise account is free of charge, and there are no fees for transferring funds from your bank account to your Wise account. Once funds are available in your Wise balance, transfers between Wise account holders—such as yourself and Project2013B—are completed instantly and at no cost. The entire process can be managed via desktop computer or through the Wise mobile app. Additionally, a Wise account offers several other benefits: it provides some of the most competitive exchange rates available for foreign currency conversions. You will also receive (upon request) a free prepaid Visa card with no monthly fees, which you can load with funds—an excellent option for making secure online purchases.

.
2. Receive an Invoice via Wise:
If you prefer not to open a Wise account, you may opt to receive a secure invoice via email. This option allows you to pay by bank transfer or card. Please note that this method is slower than using a Wise account, with processing times typically ranging from 2 to 5 days.

The Escrow process
1The buyer and seller mutually agree on a sale price for the banknote. The buyer is responsible for remitting payment to Project 2013B in the amount of the agreed price plus the applicable escrow fee. The seller will receive payment from Project 2013B in the amount of the agreed price minus the escrow fee.
2The buyer and seller should both contact Project 2013B using the same email address previously used by the project administrator to communicate the initial serial number match and subsequent confirmation via photo-proof from each owner.
3Once both parties have confirmed their intent to use the escrow service and have agreed on the sale price and associated fees, the project administrator will provide the seller with the shipping address for the banknote. Please note that delivery via standard letter mail may take one to three weeks.
4Upon receipt of the banknote by the project administrator, the buyer will be notified and requested to submit payment.
5Once payment has been cleared, the banknote will be packaged and the buyer will be asked to confirm the shipping address. Upon confirmation, the item will be shipped via UPS and a tracking number will be provided.
6Upon shipment of the banknote, the seller will receive payment in the amount of the agreed sale price less the escrow fee. Once the funds have been cleared, the escrow process will be considered complete.
NOTES:
🔹All amounts mentioned are in US dollars.
🔹Your full real name and address does not need to be disclosed to anyone other than Project 2013B who will keep it private.
🔹Real names will never be made public; the amount and serial number may be recorded on the auction history page.
🔹This escrow process has been designed to keep the BUYER, the SELLER, and Project 2013B safe. If everyone follows the steps described, things should go smoothly.
🔹At each step of this process, both the BUYER and the SELLER will be informed by email.
🔹Be warned that this is not a FAST process. One owner sent their banknote using registered mail, and although secure, is notoriously slow and took 4 weeks to reach me..
🔹Any attempts at fraud or trickery will result in the member's permanent ban from Project 2013B and any serial numbers submitted by the member will be removed from the database.
